Just a note to say thanks. I read about pose in runner's world several months ago. I became intrigued and ordered dvd. I was preparing for a marathon that was 1.5 months away. I went through the sore calves etc. and was frustrated that I had changed technique with my mileage on track for the race. I finally put the dvd away and tried to focus on relaxation with my newly learned hybrid pose form. I found that after I changed to the pose method I couldn't go back to my heal striking. Last weekend was my marathon in Huntsville, AL. My marathon time was 3:55 last April. My goal was 3:20 to qualify to run Boston in '05. By the grace of God and the pose I posted a time of 3:18. I believe this technique provided the catalyst to reach my goal. My recovery time by the way has been minimal. My hamstrings were killing me after the finish but after a post-race massage they settled down. And, after adjusting to the pose I have no knee pain and quit taking glucosomine, which was a necessity before.
